A little bit of stress along the way.

Well we had a text yesterday to tell us that our flight out today would be delayed by two hours.  Now Sarah and I had been following these flights recently and we note that flight BA2039 was often the one that was delayed or even cancelled.  We didn't really want to get to the airport and then have to come home again because of a cancellation and then lose one day of our holiday.  So we set off this morning with a little bit of trepidation as to whether we would get off or not........

We had checked our bags in the night before so all we had to do was haul ourselves into the taxi with our hand luggage and fleece in hand in case of cold weather on our return.  Taxi duly arrived although Martin was no help in telling us what time..... for once he had booked it for us and couldn't remember...... Men!!!!

Security was easy and very friendly and soon we found ourselves in the lounge enjoying the breakfast goodies on offer.....  Listening to music and generally chillaxing.  Well we were there for a while.

We had a view over the runway and could see the planes landing.  We were looking for a BA 777 but we were assured that the plane was here and would be leaving today albeit just a little later than scheduled.  We were there for quite some time so even managed to see the lunch menu displayed.

Finally we were boarded and left the runway at about 3.45 taking off in to a cloudy sky over towards Horsham..... well that was as far as we could determine before we rose above the clouds.

The journey was smooth, flight attendants provided excellent service and all in all a lovely journey except we just wanted to get there and with the delay it seemed a longer day than it should have been.  However made the most of it and enjoyed relaxing.

We were provided with a pamper kit to start with lots of small Elemis products to try.  Not so sure about the flight socks but hey ho.Lunch was a meze.

With salad, which was very nice indeed.

Followed by a filet of beef, mange tout, carrots and roasted potatoes.
Then that was followed by a key lime pie, dairy ice cream and a Lily O'Briens chocolate...... some of us got two....... and it wasn't me!  Tea or coffee to follow.  All in all a very tasty lunch at 6 in the evening!

About an hour before landing we were served hot scones, cream and jam with beef, salmon and cheese sandwiches.  Now the beef sandwiches were very tasty.

We finally touched down at about 6.45 Floridian time into the land of the Mouse as the sun was setting.
