Our first stop this journey was to be the Magic Kingdom where we were picking up our annual passes - the first time ever and ensures that we have to return. Parked quickly in Simba 15, it was even cool enough to walk to the transportation centre. So off we went to Will Call and for the first time were told to "Have a magical day".
A walk up main street has to be the start of any Magical Day and just look at those clear blue skies out there. Stunning and all before 9.30 in the morning.
Crowds were not too busy at all and we were soon riding along on Splash Mountain. I distinctly remember Sarah saying that you don't get too wet on this...... just splashed. Well not quite this morning. We got off and Sarah and I, as we were in the front of the log, managed to get soaked. Martin and Daniel fared a little better but not much. Now the first mix up with fast passes started next as we thought we were off to see Buzz, so off we went and duly rode. Then Sarah and Daniel wanted to go on Space Mountain with their fast pass but couldn't as we had managed to get the time slightly wrong. Note to self : take phone and load My Disney Experience on it and you will know the time of the fast passes.......Never mind the line was only 20 mins wait so they rode it anyway.
All the decorations are out for Halloween now and Mickey the Pumpkin is appearing all along Main Street.
Minnie was out meeting and greeting folks as they arrived in the park along with some of their other friends.
Lovely display of scarecrows along the route as well.. Sadly the train is not running at the moment so the station is a little bereft of all the hustle and bustle.
City Hall is decorated ready to welcome visitors strewn with pumpkins along the way. We return on Tuesday to the Magic Kingdom for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.
Well that was not the end of the day as we came home and decided that a dip in the pool would be good. Too soon for any photos but let us say that the pool heat hadn't kicked in properly yet. Hopefully by tomorrow it should be a bit warmer.
Time for our first dinner at Longhorns, not sure if we will get another in this time but never mind, this one was good. Martin and Daniel decided to have a starter but Sarah and I knew we would be defeated by the main. Martin started with a shrimp and avocado stack and Daniel had the sticky chicken dippers.
Both enjoyed these and we cannot in any way complain about the service, it was second to none. We ordered and starters arrived in less than 10 minutes. Sarah and I enjoyed our lemonade and strawberry lemonade.
Soon enough our main courses came out.
Rib eye steaks for Daniel and Sarah and another type of steak for Martin.
Rack of ribs for me and some left for Sarah to eat for breakfast in the morning.
We had a trip out to have a look at Celebration Halloween decorations but decided that we were a bit too tired and came home. By about 9.30 we were all tucked up in bed........
