Discovery Cove - just a peaceful "rest" day.

A day out at Discovery Cove
A restful day, just swimming and sunning ourselves, that was what was on the agenda for today after our epic shopping trip yesterday.  We were still up early as we wanted to get there for about 8.30 so we could take full advantage of the day. Check in was relatively painless, didn't take too long at all and we were off to have some breakfast before the day started.  Good selection here, of course, Martin didn't want anything - he had had his at home.  In fact he didn't eat anything here at all during the day, which is a bit of  a waste as you could just help yourself all day long.  So Sarah settled down to her breakfast, she wanted just some ham but was persuaded to have a few other bits. Daniel and I had some fresh fruit, we thought we would attempt the healthy option along with some pastries and orange juice.  Very nice it all was too and just right before we headed off for our vest, towels and hunt for a sun bed.  Actually it was all really well organised and there was no hunt at all as there was an abundance of beds to be found as well as plenty of towels, plenty of vests and snorkels and masks.

The whole day is very well organised and there was no scrum for anything, all well set out and readily available, paths are well signed as well as having a multitude of people there to help you.  So we stationed ourselves near to the reef with the fish and brrrrrr was that water pretty cold, although it does state on the website that it is 77F.  However once we got in there it was worth it, even if it did take a little while.

The rays were fantastic to see and we even managed to touch them.  We got some lovely photos of them some of which were a bit hit and miss as it is difficult to focus the camera under the water.
Lunch was eaten a little later, chicken teriakyi was very nice! We did do more than eat, honestly!  I quite liked the fruit punch as well!  Sarah thought the carrot cake was very good and the chocolate cake was enjoyed by Daniel.
We managed to see the marmosets hiding in the shade and the otters eventually came out to swim in front of us in the later afternoon.  We experienced a little heavy rain, mid afternoon which was suprisingly cold whilst we were swimming along in the lazy river.  I think we all enjoyed snorkelling for most of the day.

All in all a very successful day and a great place to visit.  The staff were excellent, it was well organised and very clean.  I am sure we would love to return.
