Sometime the magic stops!

After recovering at home we decided to get our second helping of Disney magic!  Second helpings occur more than once in this post.  Even though we knew that Magic Kingdom would be busy due to the extra magic hours this evening, we had a reservation for the Wishes Dessert Party so off we went.  I always like going across the lake on the boat, sometimes the monorail is quicker but it is not as magical as the boat trip.

Well once landed we headed off to get some Buzz Lightyear fast passes, often difficult to get but we did, from 8.30 to 9.30, not the time, it becomes important!   Well we look and see we have plenty of time to go and ride Pirates and be back in time for Buzz and then off to the Dessert Party for 9pm.  Time is very important this evening and we had it fine tuned.... or so we thought.

Off we headed to Pirates and we were in our little boat by 8.30 and off we went, one little trip down onto the ride and by the first beach with the crabs crawling up towards the skeletons and that was it!!!!  That is where we sat for the next 35 minutes.  The ride decided we were not going anywhere, we went forward for a pace or two, we went back a pace or two but we made no progress and then we were told that the ride had stopped.  Well it didn't take a genius to work that one out.
I know now where they got the skeletons for this ride, previous customers who never made it out of the caves.  We sat there being told that the ride had stopped for 35 minutes, 35 long minutes with the music playing over and over again, until they eventually turned it off.  By the time we got off the ride it was past 9pm and we had to get to the Dessert Party, easier said than done....... with a Parade going down Main Street which we could not cross.  We eventually arrived at the dessert party to find our table and sit down with some of the lovely desserts.

It all felt slightly rushed this evening though which was a little sad but never mind it was a good experience apart from the "delightful and wiffy" American woman who told me in no uncertain terms that she had saved a part of the railing for her "family".  Well her family were sitting down on their backsides and the son did not want to move out of his chair and her husband had himself leaning against the railing further up, or should that be being supported by the railings.  When she got tired about 10 mins into the fireworks she made sure her husband moved so I couldn't stand by her part of the railing......  So much for friendliness.  However by the state and pong of them, a bar of soap would have been a better option rather than more desserts.  I still managed to get some lovely shots of the castle and the fireworks despite the "hospitality" of the natives!

Most of the people I have met have been lovely though and cannot really complain about that one individual really!
